Specific insults reported include “You stupid motherf—-er,” “Don’t be a moron, you foolish girl” and “What? What did you say to me? Who are you, the congresswoman? You don’t set up meetings with me!”
Over a 10-year span, more than 39 of the congresswoman’s staff members have left. That’s one of the highest staff-turnover rates on the Hill. Nine staffers left within two months, 25 within six months.
So, this isn’t just about workplace politeness. That kind of turnover in the office can’t be good for productive work on the important legislative goals Jackson Lee hopes to accomplish. For that reason alone, we hope she gets herself a filter.
