In addition to the attempted-murder charge, Lashawn Stevens Hardy, 44, is also facing a second-degree arson charge in the early-Saturday attack. 

The victim, who remains unidentified, reportedly told Union County sheriff’s deputies that Hardy poured gasoline on him while he was sleeping before setting him on fire. He was flown to a Georgia hospital to be treated for second-degree burns on his back and neck.

It is not clear whether Hardy has an attorney.
