On top of swearing off liquor, sources say, Rice and his now wife are looking to faith to help their marriage. Their religious ties have deepened since the incident at the Revel Casino in Atlantic City, N.J., on Feb. 15. The couple has reportedly also been baptized and attends counseling with other married couples.

Earlier this week Rice released a statement saying that he’s working through the situation, he is in “good spirits” and the couple has a lot of people “praying for us.”

Rice was suspended indefinitely from the NFL and had his contract with the Baltimore Ravens terminated after TMZ released graphic elevator footage of what actually happened before Rice dragged Janay out of the elevator.
