Bedelia Hargrove, a court-appointed representative for Brown, filed a lawsuit Wednesday claiming that Gordon stole money from Brown, including transferring $11,000 from her bank account to his after she was found submerged and unresponsive in a bathtub in Januaryβ€”the incident from which she has yet to recover.

The suit also claims that Gordon abused Brown physically and emotionally. In all, Gordon is accused of "assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, unjust enrichment and conversion," AP reports. The suit is seeking $10 million in damages.

The couple's relationship first raised several eyebrows a few years ago, since Gordon had seemed more like an adopted brother to her. Eyebrows were raised once more when the duo claimed in 2014 that they were married, considering that Brown was young, her mother had recently died and, to many people, Brown was being naive in marrying a man who only seemed interested in hitching his wagon to hers. Days after she was found in the bathtub, her father Bobby Brown's attorney released a statement saying that the two were never married.

Not to mention, Brown's aunt, Pat Houston, and grandmother Cissy Houston weren't too fond of Gordon: The former got a temporary restraining order put in place in 2014 so that Gordon couldn't come near her.
