One Detroit-area man has found himself in federal court after he was arrested and charged with threatening to behead New York City Police Officer Daniel Pantaleo, who was involved in Staten Island dad Eric Garnerโs death, the Detroit Free Press reports.
According to the report, 29-year-old Alvaro Eduardo Guzman-Telles posted threats to his Facebook account, which included this: โI'm going to personally kill and behead Daniel Pantaleo. This is a written threat and has to be taken extremely seriously."
He also wrote: โKill all cops on sight. No matter the circumstances.โ
The FBI tracked down Guzman-Telles after receiving a tip from its office in New York. A Facebook user tipped off FBI Agent Juan Herrera about a Facebook user, โEduardo Guzman, a.k.a. Captain Acab,โ who was posting threats about law enforcement between Dec. 15 and Dec. 19.
Agents traced the user back to a home in Sterling Heights, a Detroit suburb, where they found Guzman-Tellesโ mother, who said that she was aware of her sonโs posts and had told him to delete them โand that heโd get in trouble,โ the news site notes. Guzman-Telles had apparently taken his motherโs advice and deleted the posts.
Still, trouble came knocking, and now the 29-year-old could face up to five years in prison for interstate transmission of threatening communications, the Detroit Free Press notes.
