With this win, the U.S. has been eliminated from the World Cup and Ghana will advance to a quarterfinals meeting with Uruguay on Friday at Johannesburg’s Soccer City stadium. Ghana is the last African country remaining in the 2010 World Cup, and in a sense, an entire continent’s hopes had hinged on the outcome.  Is there any chance that an African team can win the first World Cup on the African continent?
