A Georgia school district has issued an apology after a teacher reportedly told two students that their “Make America Great Again” T-shirts, representing President Donald Trump’s campaign, wouldn’t be allowed in the classroom.

According to the Associated Press, the apology was issued after video was circulated online showing a math teacher at River Ridge High School in Woodstock telling the students that they couldn’t wear the Trump shirts, “just like you cannot wear a swastika to school.”
According to AP, in the video, the teacher explained that the T-shirts were inappropriate, not necessarily because they support Trump but because the slogan has essentially been taken over by “the neo-Nazis.”
Cherokee County, Ga., School District spokesperson Barbara Jacoby slammed the teacher’s comments as inappropriate, noting that the students would not face discipline. The school declined to reveal what, if any, disciplinary measures the teacher would face.
