Kevin Edwards, 23, was apprehended in Danville, Ill., on Saturday after a traffic stop and a short chase, officials confirmed Monday. Authorities are reportedly working on bringing Edwards back to Chicago.

“We are coordinating with the sheriff to bring him back to Chicago,” Chicago Police Department spokesman Anthony Guglielmi told the Tribune in an email.

Edwards, along with 22-year-old Dwight Boone-Doty and 27-year-old Corey Morgan, has been charged with Tyshawn’s execution-style killing. Police believe that Tyshawn was targeted because of his father’s gang ties.

Boone-Doty and Morgan have been in custody since November, but Edwards remained at large. According to the Tribune, his sister told him to surrender but also doubts that her brother had anything to do with the shooting because “he’s got little brothers, too.”

“I think he might’ve just been around or been with the person that did it. But I don’t think he did it,” his sister said, according to the Tribune.
