According to the Times-Picayune, Lemon Grimes, 58, died after falling into a neighborhood pond. An official with the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office confirmed that no foul play was suspected in the death, and said that the drowning appeared to be accidental.

“The Lemon/Grimes family would like to thank everyone for their condolences and prayers at this time. Our family has suffered the tragic loss of L’Tanya ‘Leisa’ Lemon Grimes and we are leaning on each other for strength at this time. We appreciate privacy as we grieve the loss of our loved one,” the family said in a statement.

Don Lemon tweeted about his big sister’s death Thursday, remembering her as his “partner in crime growing up” who “always had my back.”
