TheWrap reports that the film is expected to make up to $40 million, more than any of the six sequels in the 39-year-old Rocky franchise.

The MGM/New Line Cinema drama, which stars Sylvester Stallone and Michael B. Jordan, is expected to sail past the $35 million production budget by roughly $5 million by Sunday, making it a commercial success, according to the entertainment news outlet.

The film was directed and written by Ryan Coogler, who teamed with Jordan two years ago on the critically acclaimed Fruitvale Station.

“They don’t make movies as unabashedly emotional as this very often these days, and as well-executed as it is, I’d expect it to connect,” media analyst Jeff Bock told TheWrap.

Creed follows No. 1 box office draw The Hunger Games: Mockingjay—Part 2,” which is expected to rake in $75 million. The Good Dinosaur, the Pixar Animation family film, comes in at No. 2 and is expected to earn up to $55 million through Sunday for Disney, the report says.
