He was scheduled to appear on a misdemeanor assault charge, but his lawyers told the judge that it didnโ€™t make sense for him to travel cross-country when they only planned to ask for a new court date.

Brown and his bodyguard Christopher Hollosy were arrested last month on charges of punching a man outside a Washington, D.C., hotel after he reportedly tried to jump into a picture with the singer.

Brown was ordered to attend anger management rehabilitation beginning this week after a Los Angeles court appearance, reports show.

Meanwhile, sources close to his family tell TMZ that Brownโ€™s mother believes the singerโ€™s friends are disrespectful and encourage his bad behavior.

His motherโ€™s concerns come to light after he was reportedly released after two weeks early from a Malibu rehabilitation facility for anger management treatment stemming from the notorious Rihanna incident. TMZ obtained a report that says the singerโ€™s mom showed up at the facility for a family session and was urging him to stay in extended treatment.

โ€œApparently, Chris violently disagreed with her and in a fit of anger threw a rock through her car window, shattering it,โ€ TMZ reports. The court ordered him to immediately begin serving a 90-day stint at another rehab center. ย
