The Buzz’s Final Thought: Michael Vick willfully broke the law and paid the price for doing so. Having paid his debt, he should be allowed to live his life as a man who once broke the law and is (hopefully) attempting to rehabilitate his life following a series of poor choices. The federal government and the commonwealth of Virginia did what they needed to do. The work of justice has been done, though some will surely treat it as though he got away with something. But he didn’t. He was rightfully imprisoned; he crippled himself financially and tarnished his reputation, the latter of which may never be recovered. So, aside from reasonable vigilance, it’s useless to belabor the point of his guilt. His prosecution has been effected; his persecution is unnecessary.
