The National Young Fundamentalists Conference is learning that blackface is not OK, after putting on a skit in which a member of the Clay Mills Road Baptist Church in Kentucky—where the convention was being held—dressed as Mr. T, complete with blackface, Mediaite reports.

The pastor’s assistant, Joseph Pickens, took a picture of himself in his boxing gear and Mohawk—and his blackened face, tweeting it out with the message “#NYCF 2014 fool! It’s about to go down! Who thinks they can #contend with the champ???”

Pastor Jeff Fugate, who was supervising the conference at the church, apologized, saying that he did not know what the skits were going to be.

“I apologize if I offended someone, I don’t even know as a pastor what those skits will be,” Fugate said.
