Regé-Jean Page, Naomie Harris Talk New Film ‘Black Bag,’ Reveal Their Go-To Karaoke Songs

This year’s NBWC honors novelist and poet Ishmael Reed; Kenyan-born author Ngũgĩ wa Thiong’o; poet and activist Nikki Giovanni; and Dr. Howard Dodson, former director of the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture. This year’s conference will also address the roles of migration and Diaspora, along with popular culture and nature, in black literature. Conference participants include prominent novelists, authors and journalists, including The Root’s assistant editor, Akoto Ofori-Atta.
