Aaron Hernandez seems to be adjusting to prison life, allegedly getting involved in an in-prison brawl in an apparent attempt to “show he’s down with the Bloods,” People magazine reports. The former New England Patriot is just about a month into his life sentence for the murder of 27-year-old Odin Lloyd, who was a semipro footballer who was dating the sister of Hernandez’s fiancee, the news site notes.

The 25-year-old was apparently part of a two-on-one fight at at the Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center in Shirley, Mass., in an allegedly gang-related incident, according to ABC News.

“It was two-on-one; he was part of the two,” a prison official told ABC News. The fight caused Hernandez to be placed in a segregation unit.

“The victim in the fight was some absolute nobody. [Hernandez] was just trying to show he’s down with the Bloods, a scared man looking at life in prison,” another source added.

The NFL star is also sporting new ink on his neck, a “Lifetime” tattoo that is believed to reference the Bloods gang.

Hernandez is still set to go on trial for a Boston double homicide in 2012, for which he has pleaded not guilty.
