Stephanie Dayton: Ian, did VH1 or the screenwriter consult with you at all?

Ian: No! At all. Being in the music business and being a film buff, I get it. There are certain things you’re gonna have to skate over and gloss over and make things a little more intense to [hide] other things because you want the entertainment value. I get it.

Stephanie: Knowing that it’s down to one line in this film when you played such a big part in it, how does that make you feel?

Ian: Oh, it hurts. Absolutely it hurts.

Stephanie: How would you describe what your impact has been on TLC?

Ian: As far as I’m concerned, I created it. That will always be my baby.
