Who are the trailblazers, tastemakers and innovators in your industry, field of study or community who are paving the way toward positive impact? We want to hear from you!

The Root is accepting nominations for The Root 100 of 2013. The Root 100 applauds the best young and emerging leaders (ages 25-45) who are exemplars in their fields.

The list highlights a mix of people from various industries — those who are recognizable names and those who deserve a little more recognition — ranked according to a scoring system that measures reach and substance. As a result, our 2012 list included names as varied as R&B superstar Frank Ocean; Trayvon Martin family lawyer, Benjamin Crump; New Jersey’s fiery politician Cory Booker; and Scandal’s creator, Shonda Rhimes.

Do you want to have a say on who should make the 2013 list? The goal is to select the 100 men and women ages 25-45 who are the most influential African Americans in 2013. The Root 100 will be chosen across a broad spectrum of categories — from musicians, clergy members, politicians and scientists to entrepreneurs, artists, environmentalists and civil servants.

Tell us who’s doing big things and working to make life better for the black community. Submit their names using The Root 100 2013 Nomination Form below!
