To have the Grand Rapids, Mich., police tell it, they don’t know the difference between an 11-year-old black girl and a 40-year-old white woman. At least, that’s the excuse police offered for why they handcuffed and held 11-year-old Honestie Hodges at gunpoint Wednesday.

Police in Grand Rapids, Mich., said they were just doing their job when they held a group of kids, ranging in age from 12 to 14, at gunpoint after receiving a phone call about a possible teen having a gun during a fight at a basketball court.
