As “one of the real racists,” I admit that I have intentionally omitted one of the most underappreciated groups of people in America:
Comedian Gary Owen is one white person who is proud of his so-called “invitation” to the cookout given to him by some black people who love his “I’m the down white dude” shtick. On a scale from 1 to Michael Rapaport, I would say Owen is about a 7 when it comes to his blaccent and his love for blackness in general.
You know what I am getting increasingly sick of lately? White male culture vultures who think they can say and do anything around black people with impunity. Whether it’s because they have embraced black culture and mimic it or because they married a black person and think that makes them an expert on “the Negro,”…
Whenever a white person does something remotely decent related to black people or black culture—be it displaying basic decency or performing some act with competence—a chorus of Negroes will declare, “They can come to the cookout!”
