Rapper J. Cole’s childhood home in Fayetteville, N.C., was vandalized over the weekend. The house, which was on the cover of Cole’s 2014 Forest Hills Drive album, was tagged with “J. Cole … Do you even care about the ville.”

Three years ago, Cole stated that he planned on turning the house into a transitional shelter for families in need, as his way of giving back to the community.
“The goal and my intention is that some family will get to move into this place very close to rent free, and we’ll give them two years. Every two years, a new family will move in. Hopefully by the time they leave, they’ll be in a much better position than they were when they came,” he said.
The spray paint didn’t last long, because by Sunday afternoon it was painted over:
I’d say that the person who tagged the house is probably the one who doesn’t care about the “ville.”
