Omarion Jokingly Explains He’s an Artist and Not a Variant. Unfortunately, We Refuse to Believe Him.

In the words of Lauren Keyana "Keke" Palmer: 'Sorry to this man.'

I think itโ€™s time for us to put some โ€œrespeckโ€ on Omarionโ€™s nameโ€”and by us, I mean โ€œyโ€™allโ€ because Iโ€™m going to continue naming this new COVID variant after him until the cows come home and thatโ€™s just how this cookieโ€™s going to crumble.

The reason why I feel compelled to tell all of yโ€™all to do so is because over the New Year holiday weekend, the โ€œPost to Beโ€ artists put out a series of social media videos wishing us all a safe, happy and healthy holiday but made a point to differentiate himself from the highly contagious Omicron Variant.

โ€œHi, everybody this is Omarion. I am an artistโ€”not a variant,โ€ he explains according to Variety. โ€œSo please be aware that if you just so happen to run into me on the street, you donโ€™t have to isolate for 5 days nor do you have to have a negative test result in order to dance to my music. So please be safe, be healthy, happy New Year.โ€

In a second video posted to TikTok (fitting seeing as how thatโ€™s exactly the same app that the #OmarionChallenge went viral on), he further reiterated: โ€œWhile itโ€™s important not to touch me and keep your distance, cause you know thatโ€™s how itโ€™s supposed to be, you donโ€™t need a negative test to dance to my music.โ€

See, like I told yโ€™all before: Omarion is clearly with the shits! He knows itโ€™s all jokes but most importantly: itโ€™s all love. We know youโ€™re not the variant, O, but we still got to get these jokes off.

So I hate to say it, I hope I donโ€™t sound ridiculous but I donโ€™t care what he says: weโ€™re going to keep naming this new variant Omarion, okay? Sorry to this man.
