According to reports, the famous-for-being-famous celeb has hired high-powered Los Angeles criminal attorney Shawn Holley (who was on the same O.J. Simpson β€œdream team” as Kardashian’s late father, Robert Kardashian) to help in the cases of two black women who have been railroaded by the system and whose cases have been highlighted by social media.

Holley said that Kardashian enlisted her services for support in the cases of Alice Johnson, a 62-year-old grandmother who has served 21 years for a nonviolent drug conviction, and also of 29-year-old Cyntoia Brown, who has spent more than 10 years in prison for killing a man who kept her as a sex slave starting when she was 16 years old.

β€œKim asked me several weeks ago how she could help Alice Johnson in her fight for justice. We then began corresponding with Alice and her team of lawyers,” Holleytold the New York Daily News.

β€œSince then, Kim has championed the cause of Cyntoia Brown and asked me to help her get involved in that effort as well,” she added.

And because of social media, the cases have become a cause cΓ¨lΓ©bre (especially that of Cyntoia Brown, hers having recently been elevated by the likes of LeBron James and Rihanna), so you know Kimmy is all over it, but if it brings these two black women closer to justice, then I’m all for it.
