How do you top a model going into labor during your first runway presentation? If you’re Rihanna, you make your intimate apparel line even more intimate, bringing the Savage x Fenty runway experience home for her fans with a new deal with Amazon, which will stream the show on Prime Video on Friday, September 20.
“I couldn’t be more excited that everyone will have full access to the Savage x Fenty Show this year,” said Rihanna in a press release obtained by Refinery29. “We are working on creating a bold, sexy, super energetic experience for our viewers.”
Yeah, we bet...and our bodies are ready, Rih.
But that’s not all, folks. According to Fashionista [h/t Wall Street Journal], the world’s richest female musician just raised $50 million in fresh funding for her lingerie brand, after a very strong first-year showing. And Fashionista notes that an undisclosed amount of that investment came from Marcy Venture Partners, the venture capital firm owned by none other than Jay-Z, the original (if deeply controversial) mastermind behind the global phenomenon we now know and love as Rihanna.
So is Savage x Fenty’s new coup a full-circle moment? Perhaps. Will it have our full attention, come September 20? Definitely.
