The “disturbing” images show a school building on fire and include stick figures of presumably students lined up in a row in front of a gunman firing at them. “Pew pew pew” was written next to the scene, which also appeared to show two figures lying in pools of blood, Fox News reports.

Staff at Port St. Joe Elementary School contacted the Gulf County, Fla., Sheriff’s Office about the drawing, and investigators later identified 33-year-old Robert Paul Alexander Edwards as the culprit behind the sick image and charged him with a written threat to kill or do bodily harm.

It is not clear if Edwards knew a student at the school or how he was able to get his hands on the student’s homework.

“Our country has been affected one too many times with horrific school tragedies,” Sheriff Mike Harrison told the news site. “We take matters like this very seriously.”

The department added, however, that “there is no reason to believe that Edwards was going to carry out the threat.”
