On Monday, Yusaf Mack issued a statement to Black Sports Online, recanting his previous tale.

“This is an issued public apology from my heart,” Mack said. “I was completely aware and fully conscious during the film.”

Mack’s statement comes after Dawgpound USA, the company that hired Mack for the film, issued a statement of its own saying that Mack’s claims were false. The company added that it planned to sue Mack, who had claimed that someone working for the firm drugged him.

Initially, Mack said he had answered an anonymous ad on his Facebook page seeking heterosexual-porn performers. He claimed that he was given an address to a Bronx, N.Y., apartment, and that when he arrived, he saw several naked women milling about.

He claimed that he was given a glass of liquor and a pill, and that after taking the pill, he didn’t remember anything else. After being questioned by friends who had heard he was in the adult film, Mack went to the press with the story claiming that he was drugged.

A story Mack now admits was a lie.

“I did participate in the adult film because at the time I needed money, but also because I am a bisexual man,” said Mack. “Meaning I enjoy safely being intimate with whomever I choose.”
