According to Deadline, Universal acquired the rights to the Michigan native’s life story. At the age of 17, Shields became the first U.S. female boxer to win gold at the Olympics in 2012, and of course she won the gold in Rio.

So far, a release date hasn’t been set, but you can currently view the documentary T-Rex, about Shields’ life, on Netflix. The doc is the basis of the upcoming movie.
