Following a Little Golden Globes Mystery, Zendaya Just Made a Huge Announcement

Some big congratulations are in order for Zendaya! The “Euphoria” star is officially engaged, taking a massive step in her relationship with her “Spider-Man” co-star, Tom Holland. Before TMZ confirmed the engagement this morning, however, the internet was already speculating and cheering the “Dune” actress on after she debuted her engagement ring at the Golden Globes on Sunday evening.

To no surprise, Zendaya stunned on the Golden Globes red carpet on Sunday evening, attending the award ceremony as a nominee for her work in the film “Challengers.” Nothing gets past the internet for Zendaya fans, however, as people immediately clocked quite the impressive rock on her wedding ring finger when she posed for photos. All but pointing to it directly, Z displayed it just enough, leading to a flurry of tweets and posts filled with speculation: are Zendaya and Tom actually engaged?

Despite the massive ring, many of her fans and users still expressed their hesitancy to assume Zendaya is engaged. One user on X, formerly known as Twitter, wrote, “Not saying this is an engagement ring but Zendaya and Tom getting engaged without “announcing” it seems very on brand.”

Another user echoed similar sentiments. “Until ZENDAYA say she’s engaged, I’m minding my business!!!” they posted.

However as the night progressed, it became increasingly clear that she may have, indeed, worn an engagement ring to the event. In a video from inside the ballroom, Zendaya is seen clearly showing off her ring to film producer Amy Pascal, which sparked another array of posts.

As the speculation continued into the night and the following morning, it didn’t take long before reports appeared online regarding Zendaya’s relationship status with her longtime boyfriend. Around 12 PM, TMZ confirmed that the two are indeed engaged, with sources close to the couple confirming that Tom reportedly proposed over the holidays “in a very intimate setting in one of Zendaya’s family homes in the United States.”

TMZ went on to report that the moment was simply between the two of them. “We’re told Tom didn’t make a huge show of the engagement — it wasn’t a big, over-the-top proposal — instead, it was very romantic and intimate,” the outlet added.

Zendaya and Tom Holland are a bit of a rarity in today’s class of Hollywood stars, as they both have managed to keep their relationship incredibly private, despite both being massive, in-demand talents. While other stars of their generation may have taken to Instagram with an announcement, it seems they both went the old-school route, letting that ring do all the talking.

Now that the engagement has been reported, even more congratulations posts are pouring in for Zendaya on social media, with many even already sharing their excitement for what the fashion icon’s possible wedding looks may be.

“Zendaya and Tom seem like sweet people who are genuinely enamoured by each other,” one user wrote on X. “Wishing them a healthy and fulfilling love life.” Another user wrote of the eventual wedding, predicting that it will be a “crowning achievement” for Law Roach, Zendaya’s incomparable fashion stylist and creative partner.

“I guess Tom Holland going by Tom now since he’s taking Zendaya’s last name,” someone else quipped, referring to the fact that her stage name has always been simply, “Zendaya.”
