Young Thug Drops 7-Minute Song Addressing Everything, and the Internet Has Some Serious Thoughts

The Black internet reacted to not only Young Thug’s apology song, but Glorilla’s diss track where she came for Thug’s looks and Mariah the Scientist.

Atlanta rapper Young Thug has been going through it ever since a series of his leaked jail phone calls hit the internet. While Cobb County Jail has officially banned folks from requesting even more leaked audio, it’s safe to say accusations of snitching and alleged cheating has already done some damage to Thug’s reputation. Now, he’s apologizing for everything in a new song and folks online are chiming in.

Thug went on an apology tour on his recent track “Man I Miss My Dogs” on Thursday (Sep. 11) night. On the record, he addresses his girlfriend Mariah the Scientist as well as 21 Savage, Lil Baby, Drake and a few others that were all name dropped in the jail calls. But while the seven-minute track was meant to be a heart felt apology, users on X couldn’t help but poke fun at the whole situation.

“I just listened to the whole song and man I’m in tears. The tears man! I’ll never get that 7 minutes of my life back,” @last_din0xaur tweeted. Another user, @YouMe67987569, responded asking, “Where is our apologies for going through that 7 minutes of bs, man watchout.”

@isthatjawny said, “Helen Keller would’ve learned to speak just to tell them n****s to turn this shit off.”

Other folks had harsh criticisms for the “So Much Fun” rapper. “N***a on the track crying like a straight b***h,” @TylerhillCo tweeted. But despite the backlash, many people gave Young Thug props for being real.

“Pouring every experience and emotion into the music. This is all we wanted,” @ladidaix said. “Keep it up!”

@Culturecams wrote, “This all i want. That pain.” Another user, @SheFell4Russia, said, “This is art. That’s all I really gaf bout. Get in that Artist bag fck this street bs and all this black community corny sht.” He continued, “Art is above everything.”

“Damn this s**t deep n***a starting to put this shit in the music man keep dropping Thugga should’ve been doing this since you got out,” @iTweetToArgue wrote.

And while Young Thug is taking things to the booth, so is Memphis rapper Glorilla! She dropped a diss track aimed at Thugger after a jail call leaked of him calling her ugly. In the track, the “Yea Glo” rapper completely went off on Thug and his girlfriend, coming for their looks, musical abilities and much more.

“Idk man Glorilla might have one of my favorite diss tracks now lmaooo,” @Loccdawggg said on X. Another user, @frostedtakes_, tweeted, “GLORILLA realer than all these rap n****s. She IN THE BOOTH.”

“This is not a Diss Track, this is a Roast with a beat,” @LUPASAN2 wrote.

Still, folks criticized her for focusing on Thug’s looks in the song. “The colorism LEPT out in that Glorilla diss,” @thecindynoir said. “She had enough material to roast him with without even needing to bring skin tone up tbh.”

@itgirIb said, “that glorilla shit is trash, she just making fun of him being dark skinned lol so now she ugly AND colorist. dumb ass.” By now, Thug has probably heard Glorilla’s diss. We’ll just have to see if he will respond.
