You’ll Never Guess Where Sherri Shepherd Ended Up After Falling Asleep In The Back Of Her Uber

After falling asleep at the back of an Uber, Sherri Shepherd woke up in The Bronx, or so she thought.

There are a couple of places you shouldn’t fall asleep: at work, church, school, and in your Uber. You never know where you might end up, which is what happened to Sherri Shepherd, who recently found herself being dropped off in The Bronx… or so she thought.

Earlier this week, in a nine-minute Instagram Live video, the television host got on camera, bundled up, looking confused and concerned because she was unsure of her whereabouts. Immediately, she told her followers they would not believe what had just happened to her.

“Y’all would not believe this. I’m supposed to be doing a comedy club at The Village Underground (a Comedy Club in Greenwich Village) at 130West, 3rd Street. I don’t know what I put in my Uber. I put in 130 W 3rd St, but I didn’t have my glasses on, so it brought me to the Bronx.”

As the Live continued, Shepherd explained that she had already ordered a new Uber home because she would not make it for her set. She also told her followers how she found herself in the Bronx instead of the comedy club.

“I just called an Uber, but it looks like it will be nine minutes because it’s raining,” she said. “How did I end up in the Bronx? I fell asleep in the Uber. That’s what it was, because I’m so tired and I fell asleep. Damn, and I got all this stuff. I got my notebook because I was going to try out some new material. This is not the time for a single woman to be out here by herself.”

While she was waiting outside for another car to pick her up, the comedian was on edge and spooked by multiple things, such as a black cat sitting beside her and a man popping his umbrella while walking past her.

Even though Shepherd usually gets around New York just fine by herself, she told her viewers that she did not feel comfortable being alone at night, which is why she was on Instagram Live in the first place.

“I take the train by myself. I usually get around New York really easily, but at nighttime in the Bronx, when there’s no other women here and there ain’t nothing but men, it’s not a great time to be out,” she explained.

Finally, just as the “Straw’s” star was getting anxious about where her second Uber was, a pedestrian on the street called out to her that the car she was waiting for had arrived. As she got into the Uber, the first thing Shepherd asked her driver was which part of the Bronx they were in. It turns out she was in Mount Vernon, a city north of the Bronx in Westchester County, New York.

“Mount Vernon, oh, someone said it was the Bronx. Oh, so I’m in Mount Vernon,” she exclaimed.

After this funny discovery, the comedian used herself as a learning example for her followers: Do not fall asleep in your Ubers.

“I’m on my way home. I appreciate y’all for staying with me. Listen, do not fall asleep in your Uber, because you could end up in what you thought was the Bronx, or you could wake up in Westchester, which is not even in New York. We’re out of Manhattan.”

In response, her followers expressed that they were happy Shepherd was safe and begged her to get a personal driver so that this does not happen again.

“THANK GOD IN HEAVEN AND THE ANGELS OF HEAVEN FOR KEEPING YOU SAFE, COUSIN. GET A DRIVER PLEEEEASAASSSSE,” wrote one user.

“Why don’t she have a private driver?” Asked another user.

“First of all, Auntie Sherri, why are you in an Uber and don’t have your own private driver. You a celebrity,” added another.

“You need to hire me as your PA cos obviously you’re tired and got a lot on your mind,” wrote another.
