You don’t need new glasses to see that the state of the economy is coming down hard on all of us, but it looks like it might be impacting rapper Sukihana too in light of what she’s recently been arrested for. We will explain.

On Thursday, the “Hood Rats” rapper was as arrested in North Lauderdale, Florida, and charged with two counts of violating Florida Statute 893.13. The statute warns against persons selling, manufacturing, delivering or possessing a controlled substance with the intent to sell, manufacture, or deliver it. Depending on the type of substance you’re caught with, you’ll either wind up with a misdemeanor or in the case of Suki—a felony charge.
The rapper was alleged to have been carrying both codeine and MDMA (ecstasy) with the intent to distribute, per official documents obtained by HipHopDX. She’s being held at the Paul Rein Detention Center in Pompano Beach, FL. while she awaits her trial. The total bond set is for $7,500.
Prior to her legal troubles, the “Like A Wife” artist has been promoting her latest single “Selling” featuring O.J. Da Juiceman. She’s also apparently headed on what appears to be a summer tour this May through June. Additionally, she’s also looking to take herself to the next level by expanding her team as she put out a call earlier in April for DP/camera operators, audio supervisors, production assistants, producers and editors.
With all these seemingly promising things happening for her, it’s puzzling why she would be caught allegedly with these drugs with the alleged intent to sell. We know times are rough, but she’s got a loyal fan base and a large social presence. Hopefully this legal hurdle doesn’t get in the way of her getting and keeping those bags.
