If the news of the friendship between late rapper DMX and “Black-ish” star Anthony Anderson comes as a surprise, then you may be even more shocked to learn about a incident that occurred between the two at Red Lobster years ago.
Speaking on Byron Scott’s “Fast Break” podcast, Anthony recently recalled the very first time when he and the “Ruff Ryder’s Anthem” rapper hung out and went to go eat at the popular chain restaurant and were enjoying their time before the unexpected happened.

“X ordered shrimp three ways. He ordered it broiled, fried, and sautéed. And he’s tearing it up. We’re having a good time at Red Lobster,” Anthony said around the 31-minute mark before explaining how 20 minutes later, DMX began choking.
“I’m like: ‘Yo, X, what’s up dawg?” Anthony continued, before revealing that DMX told him he was allergic to shrimp mid-chew. “He starts breaking out in hives and shit. I’m like: ‘Yo, X, what the fuck?’ And he’s like: ‘Yeah, but I love the taste of it!’
He goes on to say that in order to relieve himself from the itchy allergic reaction, DMX reached for a steak knife and was about to stick it in his ear before Anthony intervened.
“He can’t reach and I had to stop him! I’m like: ‘X, what the fuck?’ He’s like: ‘I can’t get it!’” he said. “That was my first night and my first meal with him.”
I’ve heard a lot of crazy Hollywood stories over the years but preventing DMX from stabbing himself in the ear because he willingly ate a food that he knew he was allergic too is wild even for the “Party Up rapper.”
