Even celebs aren’t exempt from bad customer service. And that’s exactly what happened to Xscape singer Tamika Scott during a night out in Georgia over the weekend.

As noted by a video posted to her official Instagram over the weekend, Scott revealed that she and her daughter stopped by a seafood restaurant about 30 minutes before closing time. When they walked in, there were about five to six waitresses near the front who saw them, but they all nearly turned their backs. Thankfully, one girl decided to service them and took them to a table.
Moved by her kindness, she decided to change the tune of the night and do something special for the girl who was helping them.
“I saw a couple of the other girls whispering and looking at us. I don’t know if she thought she was crazy or not, but you know what? Never judge a book by its cover. Be nice to everybody,” Scott said.
She later went on to say that, due to the waitress being kind and patient with her and her daughter, she was going to reward her in a big way for her tip and that the other workers would be missing out on a blessing. Towards the end of the night, while we don’t know exactly how much Scott’s bill was, she ended up leaving the waitress $700 as a tip.
In the video, the young girl was shocked and overcome with gratitude, thanking the “Who Can I Run To?” singer for her generosity.
“Stay who you are. Don’t let nobody ever change you,” Scott told the waitress. “God bless you.”
In the caption of her post, the R&B singer further explained about the moment:
“Don’t judge a book by it’s cover! I don’t look for special privileges. I believe EVERYONE should be treated fairly, no matter of their color, sex or financial status!! Thank you to the young lady that helped me and my daughter! You never know what a person is going through. Be kind and never turn your back on anyone! ‘Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unaware’ Hebrews 13:2.”
