Updated at 4:35p.mE.T. on November 19, 2025: It looks like Smokey Robinson won’t be able to escape those shocking sexual assault allegations as 2025 comes to a close. In fact, the original lawsuit lobbed against him in May will now include even more allegations thanks to an additional Jane Doe and an all-new John Doe that have come forward to join in on that suit.

In particular, John Doe alleged he began working for the “Cruisin’” singer in 2013, where he was responsible for detailing his cars, per new legal documents obtained by TMZ on Wednesday. On several occasions, Doe claimed that Robinson would come outside only wearing his underwear and “touched and fondled his erect penis” in clear view of him. He also alleged that Robinson would make sexual remarks and gestures and once tried to get him to go into a room close by.
Things would come to a head nearly 10 years later when, in 2022, Doe alleged that Robinson grabbed his hand “without consent and attempted to force it onto his erect penis.” (The new Jane Doe is also alleging a similar incident that happened to her “on more than 10 occasions.”) After what transpired, Doe claimed he was fired by the Robinsons, though he later returned to work back under them at the request of the singer’s wife, Frances. Unfortunately, Robinson’s alleged sexual antics continued.
Additionally, Doe claimed that the Motown singer’s “repeated sexual harassment, indecent exposure and unwanted physical contact resulted in humiliation, emotional distress, and ongoing fear for his safety and dignity.” TMZ also notes that he ultimately parted ways working with him “after learning of similar conduct toward other victims and out of concern for his own well-being.”
Robinson’s lawyer Chris Frost has responded to these new allegations in a statement.
“These plaintiffs are part of the same group of people who have conspired together against the Robinsons and are laying out their claims for maximum adverse publicity. We have already explained in the Robinsons’ lawsuit against this group for defamation, civil conspiracy and elder abuse that, all along, this has been an organized, avaricious campaign to extract money from an 85-year-old legend,” Frost said.
He continued: “This group of people, who hide behind anonymity, and their attorneys seek global publicity while making the ugliest of false allegations. We have sought the Court’s intervention multiple times to require these anonymous individuals to divulge essential information, turn over relevant evidence, and to share deposition transcripts with the District Attorney.”
“For obvious reasons, this group of Does and their attorneys refuse to be forthcoming with all the evidence possible to investigate their own claims. Once the public can see the truth, their avaricious motives and fabricated claims will be revealed,” he concluded.

Smokey Robinson is finally speaking out at length about those shocking sexual assault allegations. And trust us when we say, his response is exactly not what we expected to hear. In fact…it’s bit off-putting.
As we told you, in May, four women accused the Motown legend of sexual battery, assault, false imprisonment, gender violence and creating a hostile work environment. His wife, Frances, was also named in the suit. The women in particular were all allegedly former housekeepers of Robinson who claimed that his wife had “full knowledge of his prior acts of sexual misconduct” but “failed to take the appropriate corrective action” to prevent “deviant misconduct” from Robinson. They’re seeking $5o million in damages.
At the time, Robinson’s lawyers put out an initial statement, calling the accusations “vile,” “false,” and an “ugly method of trying to extract money from an 85-year-old American icon.” Robinson only said that he was appalled by them but said nothing more after that.
He also filed a $500 million defamation countersuit against his accusers, citing allegations of defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, financial elder abuse and more.
As for the “Cruisin’” singer, he’s said very few words about the lawsuit — until now. Speaking to TMZ in a brief interview over the weekend, the iconic singer addressed how he was doing in the aftermath of the shocking suit.
“Everything is absolutely wonderful, I feel great,” Robinson said. (We would think a looming multi-million dollar suit with some extremely serious allegations would be something of slight concern here, but we digress.)
Specifically referencing the lawsuit, Robinson explained: “It’s happening everywhere, man. You know? If it was going to happen to me then it happened at a great time because it’s happening to everybody. And it’s bullsh*t. I’m good.”
When the outlet asked him if he was concerned that the allegations would affect his legacy even if it were true or untrue, the “Tears of a Clown” singer said that so far, it hasn’t panned out that way.
“People know me man,” he said with a smile before stepping into a car.
