Woman From Usher ‘Cherry Video” Speaks Out On $20 Million Lawsuit Against Shannon Sharpe

Jimalita Tillman is back in the news, but this time it’s not because of another viral moment with Usher, but rather her shocking lawsuit against Shannon Sharpe. Let’s get into it!

Jimalita Tillman, the woman suing Shannon Sharpe and his “Nightcap” podcast cohost Chad Ochocinco, is speaking out in a new interview since filing the shocking suit. And trust when we say, she’s not holding back on how she feels.

If you’ll remember, we told you about a week ago that the popular podcast hosts were hit with a $20 million lawsuit from Tillman, the woman who went viral earlier in the summer for her super sexy cherry moment with Usher at his concert in the UK. Per her defamation suit, she alleged that Sharpe and Ochocinco knowingly pushed a false narrative about her marital status when they discussed the moment on their podcast.

Tillman also said in the suit that the former NFL stars’ words about her went viral just like the Usher video and it prompted her to go on national media outlets to refute and combat all the chatter. She also claimed she tried to reach out to them and their platform to get them to correct their narrative, but her efforts were “disregarded” and they allegedly kept pushing the story of her faux divorce.

As a result, Tillman claims she’s endured “significant harm” to her “character and reputation,” “emotional distress,” and adverse affects on “her personal and professional relationships.” And now she’s going on the record about it.

Speaking to The Morning Hustle recently, Tillman stressed the fact that she was a private citizen and tried repeatedly to reach out to Sharpe and his podcast for them to resolve the matter before moving into litigation. The suit has now been moved to federal court in Chicago as of this week

“I’m a private citizen, and in the rules when it comes to that… you better fact check and double check what you’re saying and what you’re doing, because it’s wrong,” Tillman said. “The other thing about it is people, like smaller-level platforms, were citing him as the journalistic news source where it came from.”

She went on to say that her issue isn’t personally with Sharpe or Ochocinco, but rather with the spread of misinformation and the lack of journalistic ethics. Tillman also called out Pink Deer, the production company behind “Nightcap” and likened her fight to that of David and Goliath in the Bible.

“He knows better,” Tillman said, referencing Sharpe. “You should be able to double check what you’re saying. And the way they kept my image up, the way they kept it going in the chat and was going on and on, it was mortifying.”

She continued: “This institution of Shay Shay Media does not have a policy in place about false information, reporting information, retracting. There is nothing anywhere on Shay Shay Media that states that. They do not feel that they have to be held accountable, and they do. They’re one of many.”

What’s more is that Tillman added that the narratives Sharpe and Ochocinco pushed were causing an issue with her work in arts advocacy and homeschooling.

“Every time I enter a meeting for funding, for programming and activations and things, it comes up. I’m tired of being the punchline when it comes to that aspect,” she said.

Sharpe, nor Ochocinco have yet to formally respond to this suit.
