If you’ve been paying attention to MAGA, then you’d notice one of the movement’s strongest believers continues to loudly distance herself from President Donald Trump lately. Ga. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has even faced backlash from Republicans claiming she’s “turning liberal.” They might be on to something, but we might also be part of an elaborate scam…

“Whether it’s Gaza, whether it’s Epstein, or whether it’s now the ACA [Affordable Care Act] credits, she’s been 180 degrees opposite of Trump,” an unnamed Republican told the Hill of Greene. “In fact, she’s been more Biden than she has been Trump.”
Greene first marked her dissent from MAGA in June over Trump’s “Big, Beautiful Bill Act,” we previously told you. Then, she drew a line between herself and her party once again after the president practically refused to release the controversial Epstein files. Now, she’s been taking aim directly at her Republican colleagues, which is only further dividing Trump’s GOP.
The last few months for Greene have been a complete 180 turnaround from her usual conspiracy-filled, far-right politics. Greene said she is still a MAGA Republican, but her questionable actions have Democrats like N.Y. Rep. Alexandria “AOC” Ocasio-Cortez, theorizing that her recent tantrum against Trump is part of a greater “revenge plot.”
“Here’s some tea for you. MTG, people are like, ‘Oh my God, she’s saying all these things, like, what’s gotten into her lately?’ ‘Oh, like, she’s bucking against Trump, she’s bucking against the administration,” Ocasio-Cortez said during an Instagram live.
“Marjorie Taylor Greene wanted to run for Senate in Georgia,” the Congresswoman added. “She wanted to run for Senate earlier this year in the state of Georgia. She wanted to be the Republican nominee for Senate. So, she was gearing up for that statewide race, and Trump told her no.”
Back in May, Greene announced she wouldn’t launch a bid for Georgia’s Senate seat, even though many of her supporters expected her to. Trump nor Greene have confirmed AOC’s claims, but Greene started a campaign against many of the president’s politics one month later.
“My district knows I ran for Congress trashing Republicans,” Greene said in an interview. “They voted for me because they agreed with that. My district’s not surprised.” Last month, Greene called out male Republicans, who according to her are “weak” in the face of the current government shutdown, the Washington Post reported. She’s been adamant about the need for the government to reopen all while leading Republicans are refusing to do so under Trump’s orders.
Greene even received props from Democratic Minority House Leader Hakeem Jeffries, who praised her for having “a surprisingly enlightened few weeks,” the Hill also reported.
To her, however, nothing about her politics has changed. “Everybody’s like, ‘Marjorie Taylor Green has changed,’” Greene told “The View” hosts. “And I’m like, oh no, nothing has changed about me. I am staying absolutely, 100 percent true to the people that voted for me, and true to my district.”
