Why This TikToker Accused of Killing Someone While Driving and Livestreaming Now Wants Your Money

While hosting a TikTok livestream, Tea Tyme is accused of fatally hitting a pedestrian. Now, she’s asking for your Cash App donations.

There’s a reason why TikTok doesn’t allow its users to livestream while driving. It’s incredibly dangerous and takes the driver’s attention from the road, but using the app’s green screen function can bypass that security measure. And after one popular TikToker allegedly did just that, she’s accused of hitting and killing a pedestrian while streaming, and now wants your help.

It was Monday (Nov. 4) in Zion, Ill., a city about 65 miles north of Chicago, when a TikToker named Tea Tyme went live on the app. As Tea Tyme — real name Ty Nesha — was talking to her followers, a screen recording captured Tyme suddenly screaming out, “Ahhh! F*ck!” after a loud thud could be heard.

A small child asked twice, “What was that?,” while someone on the live asked the content creator “Are you OK?” After Tyme repeated expletives, she can be heard confessing on the live, “I just hit somebody. Call y’all right back.”

The livestream was immediately ended.

According to local news station Fox 32, 59-year-old Darren Lucas was crossing Sheridan Road and 33rd Street when he was allegedly struck by Ty Nesha’s car, captured during the live. The Beach Park resident was transported to a hospital, but was later pronounced dead from blunt force injuries, CBS News reported.

Police confirmed that Ty Nesha, the 43-year-old driver of a 2015 Ford Edge,  remained at the scene and called 911.

But that didn’t stop her from making her TikTok account private, and posting more content after her alleged accident claimed a life.

“Hey y’all,” Tea Tyme allegedly said in a follow up post, reportedly three days later. “Y’all already know me, right? So y’all already know if my mind isn’t in full capacity — it’s hard for me to host lives. I won’t really be here long on live until my mind is on full capacity.”

Folks on TikTok called her out for seemingly being nonchalant and unapologetic about the alleged incident, and even asking for donations.

“My Cash App up there if y’all wanna support while I’m on mental leave,” she said. “I don’t like asking y’all for sh*t, but if y’all wanna find it y’all heart, y’all wanna support, my Cash App right there.” She added: “I will be OK. I am taking things one day at a time. I’m good you guys.”

The TikToker continued, telling her followers that despite not “having an appetite, I will be OK. I ain’t eating right now.” She was also sure to let everyone know she’s “been writing,” and even “got a new album series coming out.”

The internet held nothing back in TikTok comments.

“CASH APP???? AFTER MOWING OVER SOMEBODY’S GRANDPA????,” one person wrote.

A second TikTok user commented, “She doesn’t sound remorseful at all,” while a third wrote, “She def don’t have a lawyer yet bc they would’ve told her to stay off TikTok live.”

“YOU will be okay???,” another person asked. “The concern is with the victim’s family!”

Another person asked why isn’t she in jail, another said her life changed “in 5 seconds,” while someone else commented her post was “so tone deaf. the prosecution will use this to prove she has Zero Remorse and push for even more time!! Crazy af.”
