It’s no surprise that North West, the eldest daughter of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, would be a budding fashion icon. But her latest look has hit the internet and it’s causing a whole bunch of people to feel a whole bunch of ways.

A quick search on the internet will pull up pictures and North and her mother out and about in the streets of Rome. While Kardashian looks like her usual beautiful self, sporting a simple, black silk dress — it was her daughter who absolutely stole the show.
Let’s start with her hair: Instead of her usual dark brown tresses, she opted for ombre blue hair which she styled in a deep side part with two pigtails and some serious baby hairs. Moving onto her look, the young star wore a black corset top with a silver and black miniskirt, and some and black platform boots.
In another viral picture, North was seen rocking a light denim jacket and matching denim miniskirt with black stockings, stocking socks and white tennis shoes.
And while both fits appeared to be extremely fashion forward on the surface (because duh, she’s Ye’s kid), it was the former that got folks up in arms once it began circulating on social media. While some were happy to see North express her creativity and freedom through her looks, others felt like she was doing entirely too much and Kim needed to step in and put some sort of guidelines in place.
“This is why #Kanye be on the internet crashing out. Why the fuck is #NorthWest 12 year old ass dressed like a fucking grown ass woman???? And please don’t say it’s because her parents have money, Kim hoe ass needs to be a parent and stop trying to be her homegirl,” wrote one user on X/Twitter.
“Saw someone say this is how 12 year olds dress… its concerning you think strapless corsets are worn by 12 year olds. north west does not dress her age but its her momma and daddys fault fr. they are using north as an accessory,” said another.
One user tried to find a middle ground.
“North west looks cute, however her little chest should have been pushed down not up. Thats my only critique. I enjoy seeing her experimenting with her style. She is fearless when it comes to her expression,” they penned.
For some people, seeing North try out different looks and have fun with fashion was a plus and they chastised others for trying to adultify her.
As one user noted: “A lot of yall should be ashamed at how yall are talking about North West and other young girls. like these are children that are expressing themselves through clothing and creativity! your response is to imply she’s too “grown”?! yall need to check yourselves.”
“North West is literally in a tutu… she’s dressed appropriately for her age. She’s simply hitting puberty and yall are being weird about it, per usual,” said another.
