Who doesn’t love a good birthday surprise? Better yet, who doesn’t love a luxury car as a birthday surprise? Rapper Colson Baker, better known as Machine Gun Kelly or MGK for short, went viral after surprising his daughter with her dream luxury car. But the gift is sparking heated debates online.

An adorable video has been circulating online, showing MGK standing with his 16-year-old daughter Casie, and pointing out her dream car, which is parked in front of her topped with a giant red bow. In a very sixteen-year-old fashion, Casie screams and runs to the car, kissing its shiny black exterior and jumping around with a friend.
However, on X, the car hasn’t been treated with the same amount of excitement. Doing what the internet always does, people have found a reason to troll, and this time, people are confused over why MGK’s daughter would be so excited to get an Acura.
In case you don’t know, Acura is the luxury division of the Japanese automaker Honda. It might not be a $300,000 Ferrari, but it definitely isn’t a casual buy either. MGK got his daughter an Acura TLX, according to The Daily Mail, which has a base price of $45,400 on the Acura website, not to mention the custom red interiors in Casie’s car, which could easily skyrocket the car’s price and value.
This information doesn’t change anything for people on X who don’t think an Acura is anything to be excited about.
“I mean, cool first car… but it’s an Acura,” wrote one user with laughing emojis.
“Lol, not a Tesla,” wrote another user.
“That’s a trash car ngl,” wrote another.
Some users came to MGK’s defense and praised him for the purchase.
“It looks like a TLX A spec, I drove an S type once, and they are super underrated. I don’t know why y’all hating,” wrote one fan.
“I think that’s awesome, he got her a not crazy expensive, reliable car… And she was appreciative, not acting spoiled… He’s raising her right,” added another.
However, the best defense of the purchase comes from his daughter’s overjoyed reaction and from MGK himself: “I don’t know why it’s her dream car, but it’s her dream car. It’s crazy.”
