Comedian Kountry Wayne recently admitted to having no problem tricking– ahem, spending money on a woman he is interested in. And his outlook on the topic sparked online discourse that had the Black internet in shambles.

Wayne, born DeWayne Colley, made the revelation when he appeared on a podcast episode of “The Underground Lounge” with Lou Williams and Spank Horton. During the episode, which was published last week, the 37-year-old confessed how he has no issue spending his coins on women.
“I spend money off the rip, let me tell you,” he began in a now-viral clip. He added that he feels that a man should be a blessing to a woman, which may include paying her bills and/or spending money on her. “If her bills and her life ain’t in order, you can’t get her attention anyway,” he continued.
This led some people to comment on his line of thinking. “And that’s why he’ll always be Blessed. He’ll never go broke,” said one person in the comments. Another stated, “Exactly he gets it 💡.”
One woman gave him one of the realest compliments a Black man could receive. “You can always tell a man who loves women, particularly one who loves black women. And Kountry Wayne has always been it. Life’s hard enough as it is, people need to do more for the sake of love ❤️,” one woman wrote in the comment section online.
But, he DID state for the people who would label that “tricking” (slang for spending money on women), that it really isn’t, especially, “If you know you could’ve got her without the money. It ain’t tricking,” Wayne reasoned. A woman responded by saying, “🤌🏾 Real man energy. Typically the only men complaining about providing for women and children are the broke ones. Men being providers is literally biblical (and every other religious text).”
One man wrote on Instagram: “Naw simping not pimping it’s only because you got it you saying this but I’m not getting nothing fixed unless we in a relationship or married otherwise I’m moving on to the next chick who doesn’t have them problems.” A second man commented, “Praising a man for having money for you but not time….. y’all be safe out here.”
Wayne continued to receive props online for how he approached the question. “I love his response but it did seem like the host wanted to bait him into saying something negative,” one person speculated. “When he talked respectfully, they seemed…surprised,” they added with three clapping-hands emojis.
The stand up comedian, who is the father of 10 children with five different women, who has gone on record to say that he takes care of ALL his children AND their mothers, ended the conversation with an impactful statement.
He said: “I realized, I just try to treat them like I wanted somebody to treat my mama.”
