Folks are still talking about Coachella, and it’s not just for the incredible fashion or Clipse bringing out Travis Barker mid-performance. In fact, the talk of the town after the annual California festival was none other than headlining, semi-retired pop star Justin Bieber, who gave what fans are calling his best performance in years.

As he hit the stage on Saturday night (April 11), the “Roller Coaster” artist belted out songs from his latest albums, “SWAG” and “SWAG II,” even going on to perform stripped-down versions of his more gospel tracks, “GLORY VOICE MEMO” and “EVERYTHING HALLELUJAH.” However, the moment that really has Beliebers talking is when the artist sat down on stage with his fans and took them on a trip down memory lane.
On TikTok, one user, @eamonian, said it was the most iconic thing that Bieber could have done because it helped remind his fans that their dreams are achievable.
“He saved so many of our lives with what he did last night,” @eamonian said. “For over 15 years, the culture said, it’s cool, let’s trash Justin Bieber. This guy could not catch a break. And on the biggest stage in the world, he opens up his laptop, he opens up YouTube, and he plays all the videos we used to make fun of him for. The crowd was going nuts.”
Reflecting on the performance, the TikTok user expressed awe for how Bieber was able to laugh at his most vulnerable teenage moments on screen and the fact that he did a duet with his younger self on YouTube.
“So many of us have big dreams, but we don’t even take one step towards it because we are terrified of the world laughing in our face when we fall down, and that guy dealt with that for 15 years straight,” they said. “And in one moment, the biggest moment, when everyone else would have the craziest dancers and the highest production quality, he pulls out a laptop.”
Ending the video, @eamonian said Bieber gave fans an important lesson. “You can make the world go from laughing at you to laughing with you. So if you have a dream and you’re scared of starting, just think of Justin.”
In the comments of the TikTok video, users couldn’t help but agree and expressed how happy it made them to see Bieber happy on stage.
“I fuckin LOVE Justin Bieber. That man has lived through hell and back and has come out the other side. He surely has some more healing to do, but I’m so proud of him, I know he’s proud of himself and that shit is so cool,” wrote one user.
“Most authentic Coachella moment ever! That wasn’t a performance it was showing up as who you are. SO MOVING,” added another.
“He paid homage to that little kid that tried to do his best,” wrote a third.
