Let’s be honest. At this point, Candace Owens is just about unstoppable. After her very public removal from “The Daily Wire,” Owens detonated the box she was put in, building a media machine that thrives on controversy, political defiance and a fiercely loyal audience that refuses to let her fade. Love her or loathe her, one thing is undeniable: the Republican establishment has tried to discipline Candace Owens — and failed.

Folks thought she was on her way to become one of the most prominent voices in the right-wing political sphere, but her dive into the death of Charlie Kirk, combined with her MAGA flip, took everyone by surprise. Her boldness begs the question: could Owens topple the Republican Party? Here are 13 reasons we think the idea isn’t as far out as it sounds.
Owens Gets Canned: ‘I’m Finally Free’
What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. And that saying has never been more evident than in Owens’ upward trajectory in the media. “The Daily Wire,” co-founded by Ben Shapiro, severed ties with the podcast queen after a public feud involving her pattern of antisemitic language, per CNN. We should’ve all known she was a sleeping giant when she wrote to fans, “The rumors are true — I am finally free.”
Her Platform is Unstoppable
Owens recently honored a staggering win for her platform. The podcast star celebrated becoming the #1 podcast worldwide for downloads and views per episode “without spending a single dollar on advertising,” she boasted.
Owens went on to thank first lady of France, Brigitte Macron, for her controversial lawsuit, problematic yet beloved rap star Kanye — now just Ye — for giving her the courage to be bold, Ben Shapiro for firing her — which allowed her to blossom, and all the mess that brought her to the top. Savage.
She Won’t Be Tied Down to the Republican Party

While Owens spoke on thanking her haters — and her “tiny engine” of a team — she questioned, “What is conservatism?” According to her she won’t be tied the Republicans or a conservative path, and instead claims to seek truth above all.
“The Republican party is going through a moment,” Owens began, “I don’t wanna be tied down to the Republican Party. I wanna be able to say something against Democrats and Republicans. We’re doing that, we’re speaking truth, and we’ll continue to speak truth.”
Conservatives Sound Alarms
Tim Pool of “TimCast IRL” — who describes himself as left-leaning but is considered conservative — had a full-blown meltdown about Owens, declaring that she’s responsible for destroying Turning Point USA, and the splintering of the MAGA movement. “Candace Owens is a f***ing evil scumbag,” Pool stated, per the Post. “She is burning everything down, and she’s gloating and smiling while she does it.”
During a recent episode, Pool claimed, “Who is destroying Turning Point? Candace Owens.”
She Doesn’t Take Sides

While it may be hard to keep up with the conspiracy buff, it’s abundantly clear that she’s altogether against taking sides. Owens has built her brand on rejecting party loyalty when it conflicts with her personal worldview, even when that defiance costs her institutional support or political allies. All the while, she keeps on pushing.
Distancing Herself From MAGA Mania

As Owens distances herself from MAGA mania, she’s signaling a shift toward a more self-styled, ideologically fluid position — one that prioritizes skepticism over party loyalty. Rather than losing her base, fans simply continue to follow her trail, while attracting viewers who are disillusioned with both major political camps.
Owens Claims People Are ‘Waking Up’

As we previously reported, Owens detailed her position during an episode titled “Charlie Kirk Shooting Suspect Charged. Something Isn’t Right…” With over 200,000 fans on her live, she stated the viewers represent the people who are waking up.
“This is not left or right— I don’t care. […] We are fighting evil people who rule over us and impact both sides,” said Owens. “That’s the wakeup call we all need right now and I hope people are waking up to that fact as we look into what happened here,” she added, referring to the shooting of her friend, Kirk.
People Care About What She Has to Say
Hate it or love it, folks care about what Candace Owens has to say. And to be honest, even folks who disagree with her look out for what she’s going to say next. In 2024, Owens secured one of the highest-viewed Breakfast Club interviews ever, which accumulated approximately 3.6 million views. The episode shot up to iHeart’s Top 10 interviews of the year, further solidifying her position as an influential figure — for better or worse.
She’s Not Afraid of Backlash
Just when you think Candace Owens hits the pinnacle of audaciousness, she makes another shocking claim. The political lone warrior alleged that abortion is a plot to exterminate Black babies, school shootings are the result of LGBTQ+ influence, and that the moon landing is “fake and gay,” per the Washington Post. You’d think people would back off. Instead, the political firecracker keeps rolling on.
Is Owens Uncancelable?
Owens told Intelligencer that she’s got spidey senses like “That’s So Raven,” expressing what it’s like to feel urgency in sharing information with her fans. “There’ve been moments in my life where something comes on and it’s so overwhelming that I have to act.” Mind you, all these cases unfolded — and she still skyrocketed to the top of the charts in the most successful podcasts.
Kamala Harris Isn’t Black, According to Owens
This one had folks in a chokehold. One of her episodes, titled “Breaking News: Kamala Harris LIED About Her Black Grandparents,” claimed the former Vice President fabricated details about her genealogy for the sake of resonating with the Black audience for votes. While the world clutched its pearls, offended by her claims, she wasn’t cancelled.
She’s Banned From Australia
In a head-turning series of events, Owens was straight-up banned from the entire country of Australia when Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke denied her visa application last October due to concerns regarding her “inflammatory” comments, we reported. Owens may not be welcomed on Aussie grounds, but she still isn’t cancelled.
Politics on Her Own Terms

Whether she’s ousted from “The Daily Wire,” or facing relentless backlash over her statements on race, politics and global conspiracies, Owens has bounced back stronger every time. As she breaks from MAGA and Turning Point USA, while commanding a fiercely loyal audience, she’s showing that she doesn’t just influence the party — she could potentially destabilize it, reshaping political direction on her own terms now and in the future.
