According to ABC News 7 Chicago, Olasinmibo “Sinmi” Abosede left her home in suburban Naperville on the morning of Wednesday, July 30. The 46-year-old woman had only a water bottle with her, leaving her cell phone and other personal items at home. Later that day, when she had not returned home, her family reported her missing to local police.

As the days went on with no breaks in the case, the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County joined the Naperville police department and other trained volunteers, expanding the search to include the Springbrook Prairie Forest Preserve. The 1,829-acre preserve is a little over a mile away from Abosede’s home.

“It’s so large, and the conditions are so dense with the high grass, that we sought the assistance from an emergency management agency to assist us with the ground search,” Rick Krakow of the Naperville Police Department told PEOPLE. “That takes coordination.”

Although police do not suspect foul play in Abosede’s disappearance, according to ABC 7, they say she has a condition that “places her in danger.” Neighbors say the increased police presence is something they’re not used to.

“This is just not something that’s heard of here, where we live. So, for us, you know, yeah, it’s just a little bit different. Having news helicopters flying over half the day, it’s definitely a little alarming,” one area resident told ABC News 7 Chicago.

Naperville Police Chief Jason Arres posted a statement on Facebook, assuring the community that authorities are doing everything they can to bring the missing mother home to her family and loved ones. He asked community residents to continue to share any information or leads they may have.

“The more eyes we have looking out for her, the better,” he wrote.
