We Finally Know Why Rumi Carter Was Going OFF on Stage in Atlanta

The comments were hilarious after Rumi’s off-script antics went viral.

We’ve already cemented how Rumi Carter is Black America’s “niece,” and our adopted kin’s entertaining on-stage tactics continue to have us in a chokehold. Over the weekend, Rumi noticed something in the audience that prompted her to clutch her invisible pearls. On most occasions, we’d never know why Rumi reacted, but this time, we do!

A day earlier, Rumi was mouthing “I love you” to fans but fussing at somebody in the audience as her famous mom sang a song made just for her. On Sunday, a captivated Rumi gasped and pointed with pure glee into the crowd during the Cowboy Carter tour’s stop in Atlanta Sunday (July 13). Folks suspected she was screaming out, “Stitch! Stitch! Stitch!,” before turning around to her mother who was singing mid-note. A TikTok revealed Rumi was pointing at a fan holding up a sign with the text: “Blue & Rumi You Ate!” with a picture of Stitch from Disney’s “Lilo & Stitch.”

Rumi’s grandmother, Tina Knowles, shared how her youngest granddaughter “loves Stitch so much” and that she walks “into the dressing room with this big stitch hugging it almost every day! How did this person in the audience know??????? Wow it made her very happy!”

The comments online were hilarious after Rumi’s off-script antics went viral.

“STITCH!” Bey looking at her like girl…,” one person on TikTok wrote. A second person wrote how Rumi’s “mama is BEYONCÉ and she worried about stitch 😂😂 kids so cute and funny,” while a third person added, “She don’t play about her Stitch!”

Others in the comment section teased, “If somebody wears a Stitch costume, Rumi might mess around and stage dive” and “imagine if everyone in vegas shows up with anything stitch related😅 she gonna lose it.” Others understood the eight-year-old’s reaction, writing how “Stitch is her Beyoncé!” and why they “love how she’s still a kid and going crazy over Stitch! I get it girl! I was crazy over Barney.”

But that wasn’t the only time Rumi captivated the audience in ATL.

Back to her dramatic moments on Saturday (June 12), where some fans thought “too much candy” was the reason why she down-right ignored her mama on stage.

“Y’all give it up for Rumi y’all,” Beyoncé said while Rumi was preoccupied pointing in the audience and speaking her mind to… well somebody. Eventually she redirected her attention to the performance at hand.
