An infamous troll and celebrity harasser who goes by the name Pyjama Man posted a video of the incident on TikTok. The now viral-clip shows him climbing over the barriers that lined the red carpet of the “Wicked: For Good” premiere without security spotting him. He can be seen rushing towards Grande and grabbing her.
Before security could hurry to help the “Into You” singer, Erivo was already at her friend’s side, pushing the ambusher away and making sure that her friend was safe.
“Dear Ariana Grande, thanks for letting me jump on the yellow carpet with you,” @pyjamaman wrote in the caption of his video.
The terrifying incident had fans running to the TikTok comments and calling the creator out for scaring Grande, and praising Erivo for how fast she handled the situation.
“Cynthia working harder then the security,” one user commented.
“Why would you do this…she (Grande) looks so scared,” wrote another.
“The concept of Cynthia being faster than security needs to be studied,” added another.
But as the video left its TikTok neighborhood and arrived on X’s doorstep, users had even more to say about just how well Cynthia Erivo handled the situation and how slow security was in that moment.
“Cynthia having faster reflexes than multiple grown male security….,” commented one user.
@Wickedupdates posted that security was sleeping, while Erivo was trained and ready to handle business.
“And that’s why Cynthia is man of the year,” wrote one user, referencing the fact that Erivo was the cover star for British GQ’s men of the year issue.
This isn’t the first, and most likely not the last, time that Pyjama Man, who also calls himself the internet’s most hated troll, has ambushed celebrities. On Instagram, he has posts of himself running on stage at The Weeknd’s and Katy Perry’s concerts, and even on the track field at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
However, after this most recent incident with Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, fans are starting to wonder why he hasn’t been arrested.
“Same person, btw. Should be banned from every event,” wrote one user.
“Arrest this dude urgently,” added another, posting a photo of the ambusher.
