The 42-year-old Hall of Famer was booked and no word was given on whether he had been released. Â
Officials at the hotel where Sapp was staying told TMZ Sports that they "were contacted by the Phoenix Police Department today in a matter involving a guest. We are cooperating with police as they look into the situation since it is an active investigation. We have no further comment."
This is the second recent arrest of a former sports star-turned-analyst. Last week ex-NBA player Greg Anthony was arrested on charges of soliciting a prostitute. Â
