The news site notes that Sapp, who does commentary for the NFL Network, was in Phoenix for the Super Bowl.

The 42-year-old Hall of Famer was booked and no word was given on whether he had been released.

Officials at the hotel where Sapp was staying told TMZ Sports that they “were contacted by the Phoenix Police Department today in a matter involving a guest. We are cooperating with police as they look into the situation since it is an active investigation. We have no further comment.”

This is the second recent arrest of a former sports star-turned-analyst. Last week ex-NBA player Greg Anthony was arrested on charges of soliciting a prostitute.
