W. Va. Little Caesars Worker Allegedly Shoots a Customer Through His Drive-Thru Window For This Petty Reason

A 21-year-old Little Caesars’ employee in West Virginia reportedly thought a drive-thru customer was staring at him. So he allegedly did the unthinkable.

Shooting at a customer, while on the clock none the less, probably isn’t in a Little Caesars employee handbook. But that’s exactly what one employee in West Virginia is accused of doing, and the petty reason why may make you shake your head in sheer confusion.

It was Thursday (Oct. 23) when Jahtique Farmer was working his shift at Little Caesars Pizza on Patrick Street in Charleston, local station WSAZ reported. Around 8 p.m., the 21-year-old and another employee were seen on surveillance footage talking before walking out of the store.

Court documents say the other employee retrieved Farmer’s gun from his car’s glove compartment and gave it to Farmer before they walked back into the pizza joint. That’s when the unthinkable happened, police say.

Farmer then began to scream at the man, who was parked at the drive-thru window. “You want to kill me,” Farmer reportedly said to the man right before he allegedly shot at him three times through the window. According to court documents, Farmer allegedly shot him because he was staring at him and that upset him. It’s unclear whether they knew each other.

The victim was shot in the bottom of his face and near his left rib cage, per WSAZ. He drove himself to a hospital and was listed in stable condition.

Now, Farmer is behind bars at the West Virginia Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation. He was arrested the following day and charged with malicious wounding.

This isn’t the first time Little Caesars has made headlines for violence occurring at its locations involving an employee.

Days after the incident in Charleston, over in Anniston, Alabama, four 17-year-olds were involved in a fist fight that turned into a shooting. Local news station WBRC reported that on Oct. 27, a teenager from Oxford and a teenager from Eastaboga entered the Little Caesars lobby on Quintard Avenue. Police say the latter, whose face was covered by a mask, brandished a Draco style 7.62 caliber pistol to the two workers as the former went behind the counter to attack one of the workers.

A fight ensued and shots rang out after one of the employees allegedly pulled out a pistol of his own. The armed employee was hit twice with non-life threatening injuries.

WVTM 13 reported that both suspects have been identified, and investigators are currently determining charges with the Calhoun County District Attorney’s Office and Juvenile Court.
