According to the report, Travis Straton, 25; his girlfriend, Regina Ayres, 24; and Ayresโ€™ two children, 7-year-old Jordan Ayres and 2-month-old Jonathan Ayres, were declared dead at the scene. Reginaโ€™s sister Zarissa Ayres, 30, who was also in the car and was pregnant, was rushed to the hospital, but both she and her unborn baby succumbed soon after.

The accident occurred around 1:15 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of routes 50 and 213 in Maryland when the 18-wheeler collided with the groupโ€™s vehicle.ย The family, from Greenbush, Va., were on their way to Baltimore to visit other relatives. It is unclear who was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident.

The truck driver, 28-year-old Yvenet Mayette, 28, was injured in the crash and was airlifted to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. His condition was not immediately clear.

Police are still investigating the crash but have signaled that so far there is no indication that alcohol was a factor. Charges have not been filed at this time.
