Usain Bolt Was Once the Fastest Man Alive, But You’ll Be Shocked at How He’s Moving in 2025

Olympic sprinter Usain Bolt is moving a lot differently since he announced his retirement in 2017.

Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt was known in the world of track and field as “Lightning Bolt.” Before he retired in 2017, not many people were catching the Jamaican sprinter, who has earned an impressive eight Olympic gold medals and holds the world record in the men’s 100-meter, 200-meter and 4×100-meter relay.

But these days, the fastest man in the world is moving at a much slower pace and just shared some shocking news about his daily routine.

While speaking with reporters at the World Athletics Championships, Bolt said he stopped running after rupturing his Achilles while playing soccer in 2024. Now, the 39-year-old says he does gym workouts to stay in shape. But Bolt added that he may have to add some running to his routine when he’s back to 100 percent to build up his stamina.

“I have to actually start running because, when I walk up stairs, I get out of breath,” he said.

Although he’s no longer competing in the world of international track and field, Bolt’s number one job these days is being dad to the three kids he shares with girlfriend Kasi Bennett: Olympia Lightning, 5, and twins Thunder and Saint, 4. He says his day starts when they leave for school.

“Normally, I wake up just in time to see the kids off to school, and then it depends on what I have to do,” he said. “If I have nothing to do, I just chill out. I might work out sometimes if I’m in a good mood.”

Bolt added that since he’s retired, he’s found more time for relaxing activities, like watching movies and building with LEGO. But the guy who once seemed to have only one speed (fast as hell) said he’s looking at entrepreneurial opportunities as well.

“I have a lot of things in the pipeline, so as I say, I’m just dabbling in everything and trying to be a businessman now,” he said.
