Golden State Warriors player Draymond Green has been in more controversial situations than most due to his play on the court. Still, he had people shaking their heads after telling reporters after a recent game of something he does off the court, leaving his pregnant wife at home while he was playing basketball, and he feels “pretty s**tty” about doing so.

The forward, known for being aggressive and causing mayhem on the court, was being given the side eye for his latest response to a reporter who asked about his wife being at home, as she is near the end of her pregnancy. He looked troubled, knowing he wasn’t there, but he implied he had to work, though no one would be mad if he took a few days off to be there for his wife.
After the reporter questioned him about the impending childbirth and how he feels about the future addition to his family, he stated, “Pretty s**tty, if I’m honest. But, nonetheless, this is my job. And I love to do my job. But it’s terrible, if I’m honest.”
He then says it’s his job, professes his love for it, and states that it’s not the first time he’s “been in this position.” But he assured the reporter that he would get back to her when she was ready to give birth, before saying he hadn’t seen his family much due to the team’s schedule.
“It’s been tough,” he said. “We’ve been gone so much. I haven’t seen my family much over the last month, really.”
As expected, people on social media had their thoughts on his response to not being there with his wife at the moment.
One person mentioned that Los Angeles Lakers player Luka Doncic recently left the country to be with his wife when she gave birth to their child.
Although his wife, Hazel Renee, hasn’t given birth yet, another user stated that no player should miss the birth of his child.
Someone else reminded people that Green once said he would miss a game so he could witness a history-making game by LeBron James.
