Trump Tries to Drag Gayle King But Her Response is Perfect

CBS Mornings co-host Gayle King has President Trump in his feelings, prompting him to claim her career is over in a Truth Social post.

It’s a new day, which means another celebrity has found their way onto President Donald Trump’s naughty list. This time, it’s “CBS Mornings” co-host and Oprah Winfrey’s long-time BFF Gayle King. Apparently, the President isn’t feeling King’s “woke” style of journalism and targeted her in an August 4 Truth Social post, claiming that she lacks talent and that her on-air days may soon be done.

“Gayle King’s career is over,”  Trump wrote in his post. “She should have stayed with her belief in TRUMP. She never had the courage to do so. No talent, no ratings, no strength!!!”

His post included a link to an August 4 story in the New York Post about CBS’s new owners, Skydance Media, and their “vow to root out left-wing bias.” According to the Post story, sources say King has “alienated traditional morning show viewers” with “provocative” stories. That “left-leaning” content has contributed to a ratings decline for “CBS Mornings” and made it difficult to justify her recent contract extension, which is reportedly somewhere between $13 million and $15 million.

“The audience doesn’t want woke. It doesn’t like progressive and provocative bookings,” a source told the outlet. “The morning show audience wants optimism and cheer and joy, and what they were producing is at odds with audience expectations.”

Despite the attention from the guy who should be too busy running our country to come for a morning talk show host, King is clearly unbothered. When asked by TMZ about Trump’s comments, King gave a perfectly shady response, saying, “I’m sorry he feels that way.” King said she likes her job and plans to continue doing her best. She added that being on Trump’s list puts her in good company.

“I’m in a group now with Bruce Springsteen, Taylor Swift [and] Stephen Colbert,” she said.
